It has been a while since I have written. Between school, work, my podcast, and other ventures, writing has taken a back seat. It isn’t intentional. Though, I often wonder if God gives us a break on things to rejuvenate on our creativity. Maybe it is just to make sure that we have the right perspective or right frame of mind. It could be to have the right motive such as to answer the question of “why.”
I don’t begin to pretend to know what God has for our lives. I do know that He has something planned to blow our socks off. When I say that, it is easy for me to get a sense of guilt because of the whole new frame of thinking that our country has fallen into. However, I know that if we are blessed than we can bless others. It this thought process that has helped me to realize that no matter what – He is in control.
That is why I believe that there are seasons for everything. Whether it be a season for writing or a season for singing, a season for teaching or a season of silence. For it is God who says to His people, “For I am about to do something new” or as it is in another version, “Behold, I will do a new thing.” It is important to see this. God has NOT done the new thing yet. He is about to. This is where most of us fall. We fall between the behold and I will do a new thing. We lose patience. We stop believing. We lose hope. Why?? Because we don’t know what the new thing is or even when it will happen.
I have to remind myself so often that there is a space of time between the behold and I will do a new thing. That space in between is where our faith is built. It is where our hope is built. It is where we have to stand and not fall. God is about to do something new. Do I know what it is? Nope. It must be good because He said “Behold.”
