Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
We are way too offended in today’s society. Never in my life have I seen so many people get offended by something someone said or did. When I was younger, we were always taught to just walk away and move on. In this politically correct or lack thereof society, I see way too many people getting bent out of shape over certain things people say.
For example, I just glanced at an article headline that read that a man was fired from his job because of a comment he made that made some people feel uneasy. Gone are the days that free speech prevails. I am not saying what he said was right, however, I am saying that some people just need to become adults and grow up. If I got my underwear in a wad for every person who said or wrote something about me, I’d have one solid piece of cotton.
Our veterans have fought for you and me to have a right to think the way we want to think, say what we want to say, and feel the way we want to feel. I know, this is my thoughts and my opinions. But I have to wonder how the other guy felt when he was fired. I have to wonder if he decided that it would be better to be silent than to voice his opinions. I wonder why is it alright for one man to have an offense but the guy who they are offended at had no rights.
I believe that we have to come to a point in our country that we quit living with our feelings on our sleeves and get out there to live a productive life instead of a destructive one. Instead of being offended, live a life of peace as much as you can with your fellow man.
Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.
Instead of worrying about our neighbor’s issue(s), perhaps it is the time to focus on ours. It may be the perfect time to work on our own things. If we could fix just one thing in our lives, I firmly believe that it would better the world for the greater good.
