“I recall your sincere faith that was alive first in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and I am sure is in you. Because of this I remind you to rekindle God’s gift that you possess through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
2 Timothy 1:5-7
Can I be completely honest? Okay, it’s pretty clear that I am brutally honest at times, but can I have the permission to be frank? Humor me with what I am going to share with you today about what I think about our future – it is exactly how you want it to be. You cannot desire success and not follow the life style to get you there. You cannot bum out of life and waste your gifting expecting success. You have to kindle that gift that is in you.
I know that it is easy to become cynical when it comes to hearing this thought. For nearly ten years, I believed this and saw no results in it. Unfortunately, there are people in this world that don’t want you to succeed no matter how hard you try. At the end of the day, I would rather kindle my gift with the hope of something better than believe that nothing better will ever occur in life.
Now, in previous articles, I have talked about taking your future into your own hands so I won’t bore you with that. However, I want to encourage you to find your gift and kindle it. Find that thing, that activity, or whatever you want to call it and cultivate it. You were created for more. You were created to thrive. So go. Thrive!
